Birta Sólveig Söring Þórisdóttir

Birta Söring is an Icelandic actress who recently graduated from the Icelandic University of the Arts. She has also completed a diploma course at the Complete Vocal Institute in Denmark and has extensive singing experience.

Birta has participated in various independent performing arts works, including e.g. Strandgate Film Festival and Velkom Yn in collaboration with Afturámóti. She also staged her recent solo work Kríukroppur in the summer of 2024, but she wrote and premiered the work during her studies.

Birta played Auður in the musical The Little Shop of Horror/Litla Hryllingsbúðin at Leikfélag Akureyrar in 2024 and also starred in Áramótaskaupið in 2024. In addition, she is starring the new Icelandic musical Stormur, which premiered in March 2025 at the National Theater and is based on Una Torfa's songs.
