Pétur Óskar
Pétur Óskar is a dynamic and versatile actor with a career spanning film, television, theater, and music. A graduate of the Cours Florent acting program in Paris (2014), he has built an impressive body of work across multiple languages, performing fluently in German, French, English, Icelandic, and Luxembourgish.
Film & Television
Pétur is best known for his leading role as Tryggvi in Trapped 2, the Netflix crime series that captivated audiences worldwide. He also played the leading role in Cruelty, an Amazon Prime feature film, and had key roles in And Breathe Normally, which premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival, where it won the “World Cinema Dramatic Directing Award,” and the Netflix series Capitani. Most recently, he starred in the Icelandic TV series Flamingó Bar, broadcast on Stöð 2.
His international work includes the leading role in Tatort-Kiel, Borowski und der Wiedergänger, directed by Andreas Kleinert. He also appeared in Hagen, directed by Philipp Stennert and Cyrill Boss, where he played Almund, a Viking warrior.
Theater
On stage, Pétur has brought his intensity and depth to a variety of productions. He played the leading role in Polishing Iceland, directed by Pálína Jónsdóttir with the Reykjavík International Ensemble. The production was performed at the prestigious Shakespeare. Theater in Gdansk, Poland, cementing his reputation as a commanding stage presence.
Voice Work
Pétur has also expanded his artistic reach into video games, contributing voice work for the highly anticipated Hellblade 2: Senua’s Saga, adding another dimension to his storytelling abilities.
Music
Beyond acting, Pétur is an accomplished musician and composer, blending indie rock, folk, and country influences reminiscent of Arcade Fire and Edward Sharpe. His six released singles have earned strong chart placements, and his music video for Superstar was nominated for the Icelandic Music Awards, followed by another nomination for Take the Seasons.
In addition to his solo music career, Pétur has contributed to soundtracks for various films, adding emotional depth to cinematic storytelling. One of his proudest moments was performing at the opening of Stade de Luxembourg, the country’s new national stadium.
