Sara Dögg Ásgeirsdóttir

Among her roles in film and television is Lára, the lead role in three seasons of the series Pressa, for which she won the Edda Award for “Actress of the Year” in 2013. Other notable roles include the lead in the eight-episode series Vitjanir/Fractures, directed by Eva Sigurðardóttir, the role of Dagbjört in the series Stella Blómkvist and the role of Ásdís in Elfar Aðalsteinn’s film Sumarljós og svo kemur nóttin, based on the novel of the same name by Jón Kalman.

Sara’s recent projects include roles in the True Detective series and Ljósvíkingar, a film by Snævar Sölvason. She recently completed filming for the series Everybody Loves Horses, set to premiere in late 2025.
