Björgvin Franz Gíslason

Björgvin Franz Gíslason graduated from Iceland Academy of the Arts in 2001. Since then, he has played leading roles at the National Theatre of Iceland, the Reykjavik City Theatre,and the Akureyri Theatre. Björgvin worked for a long time as the host of Stundin Okkar, a show that won the Edda Award for “Best Children’s Content.” He also runs the film production company Veitan. Additionally, he works as a voice actor for animated films at Stúdíó Sýrland.

For many years, Björgvin has worked as an event host, presenter, magician, and impersonator for various companies, schools and town festivals across the country. Recently, he began traveling around Iceland giving lectures titled Okið Undan Sjálfum Mér (The Burden of My Own Self), where he honestly describes how he transformed his own work-related stress into inner peace using methods that have been employed in training elite athletes and CEOs of the world’s largest companies. The lecture is based on his master’s studies at the University of Minnesota.
